As the curtains rose on a new term at IKERICO Basic School in Kyebi, our ambitious music program eagerly resumed, building on the rhythmic foundation laid last year. This year, we’ve focused intently on enriching our students’ understanding of music through a structured exploration of music theory and keyboard practice.

The program’s curriculum is designed to introduce students to the basics of music theory, helping them decode the language of music with ease and confidence. This foundational knowledge is critical as it supports their musical expressions and understanding, turning abstract notes into harmonious melodies that they can play and appreciate.

Each session is meticulously crafted to ensure that learning is both enjoyable and educational. The students spend part of their time immersed in the theoretical aspects of music, learning about different notes, scales, and the dynamics of musical composition. The rest of the time is hands-on, with students practicing on keyboards. This practical application is where theory meets reality, allowing students to experience firsthand the joy of creating music.
